Go to the Book of Jude. Twenty-five verses, one chapter, tucked in just before Revelation. Read verse fourteen.
“And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints.”
Now answer me this. Where is Jude quoting from?
Not Genesis. Genesis gives Enoch four verses and tells you he walked with God and was not. It does not record one word the man prophesied.
Jude is quoting the Book of Enoch, chapter one, verse nine. You can lay them side by side. And that book is not in your Bible.
I am not going to tell you who decided, or why. I preached forty years before anybody put that book in my hands, and I'm not here to shame you for a thing nobody handed you either.
I'm going to show you what Jude was reading.
Most of the Western church forgot books like Enoch and Jubilees. The Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church kept copying them by hand, in Ge'ez — the oldest of them for well over a thousand years. Not hidden in a vault. Kept.
Ten of those texts are in this volume, in English — with the translator, the year, and the language he worked from printed on the page.
Why this one is different
You have probably seen the “complete 88-book Ethiopian Bible” listings. Read this before you buy any of them, including mine.

The reason nobody can sell you a complete Ethiopian Bible in English is that one does not exist. Several of the books that church keeps have no scholarly English translation. Any listing that promises you all of them in English is promising a book that was never made.
One of the ten is a selection: the Book of the Saints, seventy-three of its days, chosen by a rule printed in the volume. I'd rather tell you that on this page than let you find out after you've paid.

- The Statutes of the Apostles — 73 statutes. George Horner, 1904, from the Ge'ez.
- The Apostolic Canons — 57 canons. George Schodde, 1885, from the Ge'ez.
- The Testament of Our Lord — 74 chapters. Cooper & Maclean, 1902, from the Syriac.
- The Epistle of the Apostles — 51 chapters. M. R. James, 1924, via French and German renderings of the Ethiopic, and the Coptic.
- The Book of the Saints (the Synaxarion) — E. A. Wallis Budge, 1928. The Ethiopian church's own calendar of saints, not a book of the Bible. A 73-day selection; the full work runs to four volumes and is free to read.
Two of the ten did not reach English straight from the Ge'ez, and one is a selection. It says so here, on the page itself, and in the credits. That is the difference between a book that respects you and a book that is counting on you not to check.

Ethiopia took the faith in the fourth century and never lost it. Its church simply kept a longer shelf of books than the churches of the West, and kept it longer.
So the texts stayed in Ge'ez, copied by hand, generation after generation, while the rest of the world argued about what belonged and quietly let the rest go.
The Ethiopian church did not hide anything. It kept these books the whole time. We are the ones who stopped reading them.
